James Ramos, a Democrat and a member of the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, currently represents the district in the California State Assembly. Before his election to the Assembly, he served on the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and as a trustee on the San Bernardino Community College District Board of Trustees.
